Senior Maggie Greer grimaces as the Red Cross nurse inserts the needle to draw blood.

The annual Red Cross blood drive was hosted by the Key Club on Wednesday in the Dorogy Room in the Science Center.

Club members volunteered to help out, and some even donated. About 30 students, faculty and parent were expected to participate.

In the state of Georgia you must be 16 years old with a parent’s consent and weigh more than 115 pounds. (Students over 18 can donate if they meet the weight requirement.)

“It was a good experience,” said senior Kasey Sanders. “I feel like if I can help somebody else I will.”
