MAGGIE THORNSBERRY: Forever Stratford, Senioritis and special friendships
April 25, 2017
Maggie Thornsberry is one of 33 seniors who have attended Stratford for their entire academic career. She has been at the Academy since Pre-K.
Looking back on her Middle School days, her most embarrassing moment came in the eighth grade. Her friend, Jon Barron, attempted to push her into a split. She heard a loud rip and quickly realized her jeans had torn down the middle.
“Maggie T” said her senior crush from kindergarten was Luke Slappey. Her favorite FLIK food has been the infamous pizza. In a recent Gazebo poll, she was voted as having the worst case of “Senioritis” among the 81 seniors.
She singles out Middle School English teacher Mrs. Irene Whitaker as having one of the greatest impacts on her life because she is her tutor. Maggie serves her intern, and they have a special bond.
Maggie said what makes Stratford special is the community of students and teachers. She said she has been taught many lessons, including learning how to make friendships that will last a lifetime.
She said she will miss her friends. However, she said she will not miss having to wake up early every morning.
She plans to go to Georgia Southern University next year.
