ROSALEE SPIVEY: Chess, archery and dating guy with love for yo-yos

Rosalee Spivey is a president of the Classics Club and a senior at Stratford Academy.

“I led at Latin Con and that was really fun,” she said. “I got to lead all of the cheers and hold a wooden sword. It was awesome”.

Rosalee’s hidden talent is archery. Her favorite thing about being in the 12th grade is the senior privileges, like sleeping in.

Rosalee has been dating fellow senior JR Gumarin for 17 months. She said she was attracted to JR because of his “funny and sweet personality” and his love for yo-yos

She participated in track her freshman year, volleyball throughout high school, and lacrosse since she was a sophomore.

Chess is another passion for her.

“I’ve been playing chess for three years,” she said. “I thought that it would be something good to help refine my mental stamina and strategy. I would be able to see more things happen before they occurred.”

One thing Rosalee will miss about Stratford is getting to see her friends every day. She plans to attend Mercer this fall and major in Biology.
