LUKE SLAPPEY: Soccer captain, heartthrob king and Cool Hand Luke
May 12, 2017
Senior Luke Slappey has been a student at Stratford for 14 years.
One of Luke’s favorite memories was during his sophomore year, when the soccer team beat a top-ranked team 8-0 in the state semifinals. Luke was excited to be a captain of this year’s soccer team, and was honored to help lead the newer players.
He advises underclassmen to work hard from the beginning so you will be able to get what you need and want in the future.
When Luke was 4 years old, he was in his front yard playing freeze tag, when he suddenly fell. His brother fell on top of him, and he broke his femur. After that, he was in a body cast from the waist down.
It has been claimed Luke was the pre-school crush of all the girls at Stratford at one time or another.
