DAVID MATLOCK: Big man on campus, outgoing, Carolina-bound

At 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, senior David Matlock is hard to miss.

Around school, David is well known for his outgoing personality and his blunt commentary.

David has been apart of the Academy since a young age, but after having been enrolled as a student in pre-K. David left for a briefly after his fourth grade year.  Ever since returning to Stratford in the sixth grade however, Matlock has loved his experience.

“I have just really liked Stratford and all the friends I have made. There are some really great teachers, and I have just enjoyed it a lot,” David said.

At Stratford, Matlock plays center for the football team, is a starting attack man in lacrosse and participates on the track team in addition to the various clubs. He was a sports writer for the Gazebo his senior year.

At home, David loves to work out and spend time with close friends.

In the fall, he will be attending the University of North Carolina.
