Akbar gets thumbs-up as headmaster for the day
November 11, 2017
Omar Akbar was not going to let a cast get in the way of him being “Headmaster for the Day.”
Omar, a fourth-grader at Stratford, broke his thumb this past Sunday. On Wednesday, the 9-year-old got to be headmaster after his family won the highest bid during the “Teachers Treasures” silent auction as part of “Celebrating Art” last month.
Throughout the day, Omar and Dr. Bob Veto walked through the campus, went to assemblies and attended a meeting.
“It was really fun and interesting,” Omar said.
Dr. Veto even signed his co-headmaster’s cast.
