Cafeteria to be named in memory of Prentice Robinson

Memorial service set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the gymnasium

The cafeteria at Stratford will be named in memory of long-time custodian Mr. Prentice Robinson, Stratford’s head of school Dr. Bob Veto said.

Dr. Veto said a formal announcement will be made at his memorial service on Saturday,, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. in the Grady gym.

Prentice Robinson retired at the beginning of the school year after working at Stratford for 47 years.

He sadly passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, one week after being honored at Stratford’s homecoming game.

“Prentice was really known in many ways as the face of Stratford,” Dr. Veto said.

Middle School history teacher Mr. Andy Lawson worked with Mr. Robinson for 46 years.

“He would always call me Andre which I though was so cute,” Mr. Lawson said. “Whenever he would come by my room and I would be working at the computer, he would flip off the lights, and I knew he just wanted to pop in and talk or just wanted to tell me he had passed the door.”
