Stratford students Anna Kate Medlin and Rosalee Spivey recently had stories published in Teen Ink,  a literary magazine for high school students.

Medlin, a  junior, has been published eight times in the magazine since the beginning of 10th grade.  Medlin also has been published in Scribbles, Stratford’s literary magazine.

She has written about a variety of topics in Teen Ink, from sunsets to dreams.

“It’s really just random stuff that’s happened to me that inspires me,” she said.

She learned about Teen Ink in ninth grade while in Mrs. Michelle Fleming’s tutorial. She plans on writing in her future. She plans “to major in English and creative writing and go on and become a published author.”

Spivey, a senior, recently had her first story published in Teen Ink. She has written in her spare time for a few years. She mainly writes realistic fiction.

Spivey found out about Teen Ink in a similar way to Medlin.

“Mrs. Fleming told  me about it last year, when Victoria Brown got published,’’ Spivey said.

Spivey wants to continue writing and is considering minoring in creative writing in college.
