MEREDITH FUCHS: Tuba player, humorous interpretation and ‘try something new’

May 12, 2017

Meredith Fuchs, a senior in band and SOAR, has been at Stratford since the first grade.

She has taken part in many fine art activities, along with multiple trips to district, south honor region band and UGA’s “Janfest.”

Meredith joined the Stratford band in the fifth grade and has participated every year since except for her eighth grade year.  She was asked to switch from clarinet to tuba her junior year.

One of her proudest achievements and favorite memories was when Meredith convinced Mr. Mike Kelly to perform, wearing a wig and makeup, Dear Mr. Thisby.

She has always loved performing for literary team in the category of Humorous Interpretation.  She was winner of Stratford’s “Poetry Out Loud” competition earlier this year.

Meredith also represented Stratford as the school’s Golden Eagles nominee for “Citizenship.”

She advises her classmates to not be afraid to try something new or join a new club.
