Sophomores Riley Davis and Dylan Yugalavage are co-drum majors for the Spirit of Stratford marching band

The Spirit of Stratford marching band has two drum majors this year.

Sophomores Dylan Yurgalavage and Riley Davis are the first drum major pair at Stratford in several years, according to Band Director Ms. Laura Voss.

“A lot of times, the band is divided on the field and two drum majors will help both sides clearly,” Ms. Voss said.

Dylan and Riley will continue as drum majors for their junior and senior years.

“I think the two of them are going to be very strong together,” Ms. Voss said.

The band is headed in a new direction this year, because members are doing a contemporary halftime show.

“This is going to be a cool direction to take the band in,” Ms. Voss said. “The band is looking forward to the show this year.’’

“It’s fun and all, sometimes it can be difficult, but I enjoy the experience,” Dylan said.
