Liquid glass that reaches temperatures of 2,000 degrees may seem dangerous to some people, but not to Devan Cole, the founder of Hot Glass Academy.

Cole, who has been on campus this week for Stratford’s “Celebrating Art,” spends his time making sculptures by heating up glass and molding.

It is a long and difficult process, and just one sculpture can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of days.

“For me, the best part is being able to bring the community together,” he said.

He is responsible for the glass pumpkin patch and has given demonstrations to classes and groups of students.
