Stratford’s literary team has experience, confidence
The literary team is competing this Thursday, March 2, at First Presbyterian Day School.
Students will be competing in music, oral interpretation, extemporaneous speaking and essay.
“We’re excited about our team this year we have a considerable number of returning members which always adds a level of confidence when they’ve been before,” said Ms. Sylvia Haynie. “Our girls trio is completely made up of seniors. There’s Walker and Noah who isn’t a senior but both did quartet last year”.
Competing in boys quartet are Walker Gibbons, Noah Fenimore, Austin Slocumb and Matt Newberry. Walker Gibbons will also be competing as the boys soloist.
Sarah Kate Sellers is a girls soloist. She will join Grace Deedrick and Cameron Walsh in girls trio.
Meredith Fuchs will compete in oral interpretation. Dramatic will be done by Morgan Mathis and Thomas Thwaite and Riley Davis will represent Stratford in duo.
“My first year doing literary has been an amazing experience so far and I cannot wait for more years to come” said freshmen Riley Davis.
In extemporaneous speaking, Rushabh Patel and Ellie Wangrin will compete for Stratford, Zainab Siddiqui, Carly Wanna and Tarab Ajjan are competing in the essay portion.
The state competition will be held on March 18.
