Coat drive wraps up Friday
The annual coat drive started last week and ends Friday.
This is the fifth year Stratford has participated. The drive is led by a fourth-grade teacher Mr. Bill Reynolds, and students in the fourth grade are given the responsibility of collecting the boxes.
Lower school principal Rhonda Mann said the project is an excellent opportunity to teach the students about community service.
The donated coats are given to Macon’s homeless through the Macon Outreach program. Last year, about 120 coats were collected. This year’s goal is 100 coats. Mrs. Mann said.
