Harrison Tuck gets the win for the Eagles

After a rash of injuries, Stratford’s wrestling team is now down to five active wrestlers.

But the Eagles are still going strong.

Stratford had its first home meet in five years on Wednesday against Tattnall Square and Mount de Sales in the Gaddy Gym. The Eagles had a strong performance with wins by freshman Harrison Tuck, sophomore William Deal, freshman Nathan Dummitt, freshman AJ Stevenson and sophomore Kieran MacKinnon.

The are two tournaments and a meet before the area tournament on Jan. 27, which is the first round of state qualifications.

The team’s goal going into the area tournament is to get as many wrestlers as possible to sectionals, the next round of state qualifications.
