Golf team benefits from senior leadership
The Stratford golf team has been busy this spring with matches and tournaments, including one at St Simons Island. The Eagles have multiple first-place finishes at Benedictine, the Frederica Cup, Jones County and Mount de Sales.
“The team came in with a positive attitude this season, and the seniors especially want to go out and accomplish something,” Coach Cater Pierce said.
The team is playing with at least one match each week through May, with the state tournament on May 21-22. The team has great leadership with a strong senior class.
Senior Brannen Suggs has been playing golf for 15 years. He said his main goal this year is to beat Stratford’s rival school, FPD.
He said he likes playing golf because “I like to hit dingers.” His home course is Idle Hour.
