Boys soccer still alive and kicking
Does the Stratford boys soccer team have the meddle to win a state title?
Eagle fans will have at least part of that question answered on Wednesday when Stratford travels to Athens Academy to meet the top-seeded Spartans.
The third-seeded Eagles are 6-6 and 4-2 in region play. They hope to continue their playoff run and earn a spot in the state tournament at Mercer.
Last week, the team advanced with a victory over Calvary Day in Savannah on the Cavaliers’ new turf field.
The Eagles are led by the team’s leading scorer, Jake Jamison. Jamison is a senior captain, along with Larson McDaniel and George Iakovidis.
Another senior, Logan Thomas, believes the Eagles are battle-tested and ready for a deep run in the playoffs.
“When the going gets tough,” he said, “the tough gets going.”
