Lead by a first-place finish by freshman Dylan Driver, the girls varsity cross country team won area on Wednesday at First Presbyterian Day School.

Both the varsity and junior varsity girls teams finished first overall out of the eight schools in the meet. The varsity boys placed fifth overall.

Stratford placed four girls in the top 10. Dylan Driver crossed the finish line first, followed by junior Jenny Belle Butler, who was second. Junior Sara Kate Durkee was seventh, and senior Emory Sutherland was eighth.

The girls qualified for the state meet Friday, Nov. 2,  in Carrollton.
