Seniors McKinley Thompson, McKay Powers recognized for citizenship

What makes a good citizen? Is it someone who helps others, or even goes out of their way to make their school a better place?

I don’t really think of myself as a good citizen but more of just a decent person.

— McKay Powers

McKay Powers and McKinley Thompson have been recognized for the “Best Citizen” award at Stratford. They are currently seniors, and were voted by their classmates.

“I guess something I’ve been raised to do is treat people the way you want to be treated and to just be kind in general,” McKay said. “I don’t really think of myself as a good citizen but more of just a decent person.”

“McKinley is just an amazing friend,” sophomore Jack Miscall said. “He always is there to help on and off the court.”

This award comes with a photo in the yearbook and description of their accomplishments.
