The idea of bringing back afternoon pep rallies has been welcomed by most Stratford students. This is also the first time that the new bleachers in the Grady will be used.

After several years of Friday morning pep rallies in The Grady during  break, the first scheduled afternoon pep rally is Friday, Oct.11 at 2:45 p.m. The Eagles football team plays at rival Tattnall Square that night.

Upper School Head of School Mrs. Theresa Ferrari and Assistant Head of School Mr. Willis Kallay, and Athletic Director Coach Mark Farriba said students wanted to see the change because there would be more energy and enthusiasm at the end of the school day and closer to game time.

One of the main concerns for lower school teachers and preschool is that the children  can not stay for the whole pep rally. But the high school students enjoy this because they are bringing back the spirit ladder, more activities and games involving students.

“I think they will be better than the morning because we don’t have class afterward,’’ freshman Peyton Lovett said.
