Stadium renovation will be ready for home opener
Eagles host George Walton Friday at 7:30 p.m.
As with any football season opener, there always is uncertainty.
How good will the Stratford Eagles be this year? How much will COVID-19 affect the season? And will the new football stadium construction be ready for Friday’s opening game against George Walton?
Stratford Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Mark Farriba said he expects the stadium to be ready.
For everything else, we will have to wait and see.
Coach Farriba said he has been “really happy with everything and he knows the finished product will look fantastic.”
The game starts at 7:30 p.m., with fall senior night recognition beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Friday’s theme is “USA” and fans are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. Students are reminded to wear masks in the student section.
“The protocols for all of our athletic events are No. 1, if you come to an event here we’re asking everyone to wear a mask, whether it is indoors or outdoors,” Coach Farriba said, “We’re not gonna have a restriction on the number of people who can attend the games. The only thing we’re asking is if you come to the game you wear a mask and you follow all the standard social distancing guidelines.”
