In high school, girls often have to go through a lot of trouble to find the perfect dress for every dance we attend. This article focuses on different tips, brands, and more to make finding your dress a little easier. 

At Stratford specifically, finding a dress is hard, considering that there are not many girls in each grade. Competition between two or more girls for a certain dress is a common occurrence, but the Group Me chats make it a little easier to navigate. It is recommended to start looking early for your dress before each dance, and to always check and see if anyone else has sent your dress before you to avoid conflict. 

Even though finding a dress can be stressful, it is also fun! Choosing a color and style that suits you and your vibe is the most important part. Trying not to fit into trends and to choose a dress that YOU love is vital. Brands and websites that I have found to be well-loved over the years are Amanda Uprichard, Superdown, Peppermayo, Elliatt, For Love & Lemons and Retrofete. Most of these brands are found on the website Revolve, which almost everyone uses to dress search. 

The brands above are helpful when looking for short dresses, but not necessarily for long ones. Shorter dresses are typically for Homecoming and Sadie Hawkins, and the floor-length dresses are worn for prom. Prom is the most special experience for dances during high school, and truly will be a night to remember forever. When searching for a prom dress, you can go about it slightly differently than your others. 

Prom dresses should be at least floor length, comfortable, and should make you feel beautiful, of course. Prom is a time to really show out with your dress and show your true and original taste. For Prom, the brands we love are Amanda Uprichard, Elliatt, House of Harlow, and Mac Duggal. You can again find these brands on Revolve and also Saks Fifth Avenue. 

Remember it really is never as stressful as you think, and the most significant part of searching for a dress is that you love it and  feel comfortable and confident in it, too!
