There are 28 members of The Gazebo this year, the largest newspaper staff in school history.
The two journalism classes include 10 returning staff members from the 2015-16 school year. The Gazebo consists of six seniors, two juniors, seven sophomores and 11 freshmen.
Rania Akbar is a freshman and in her third year in the Spirit of Stratford Color Guard. She enjoys theatre, singing, playing clarinet and equestrian. She helps at local animal shelters. Her favorite subjects are English and History.
Anna Kate Alford is a junior and a new member to the Gazebo staff. She is in the Spirit of Stratford Marching Band and participates in the theatre department. Her favorite classes are French and English. She also enjoys drawing, drinking tea, composing music and playing various instruments.
Evana Baggett is a freshman and enjoys watching football games and playing golf. She loves watching Netflix daily, and babysitting to get quick money. In her free time, she likes hanging out with her friends and going to the beach. Evana loves trying new things and meeting new people.
Gracie Bell is a sophomore. She plays year-round for the Peachtree City lacrosse club and enjoys pepperoni pizza from Ingleside Village Pizza. Her favorite movie is “Halloweentown.” She loves making endless playlists on Spotify.
Lizzi Clayton is a senior and sports editor for the Gazebo. She enjoys playing soccer, running cross country, spending her spare time listening to music on Spotify and hanging out with her friends.
Arya Datta is a freshman who plays tennis and piano. She enjoys watching Netflix, and her favorite show is “Gossip Girl.” She likes to contribute to her community by baking for the Macon Rescue Mission. Her favorite subjects are Spanish and Journalism. Arya looks forward to joining Key, Pep, and Ecology Club, as well as ADL.
Nick Dorogy is a junior and an enthusiastic member of the Gazebo staff. He is a member of the lacrosse team. His favorite classes are Journalism and History. He is a member of the Gazebo sports team which consists of Lizzi Clayton, David Matlock, and Wade Snow. He can’t wait for another great year of writing articles and conducting interviews.
Molly Garud is a freshman who is greatly anticipating life on the Gazebo staff. She plays JV volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track. During her free time, she loves to play golf with her friends. Her favorite show on Netflix is “The Vampire Diaries,” and she is the president of her class for National Charity League. Molly loves to volunteer for The Macon Rescue Mission and the Ronald McDonald House with her friends.
Graham Hefner is a freshman at Stratford. He plays on the school baseball team. He loves watching and discussing basketball and football. He is also on the school’s sports social media team. His favorite foods are pizza from Domino’s and chicken fingers from Zaxby’s.
Karen Jarrard is a sophomore and enjoys cheering for the Eagles. She loves to ride horses and is a big fan of the show “Grey’s Anatomy.” Her favorite drink is Dr. Pepper. Her favorite fruit is frozen grapes. She works at Dry Falls. Her favorite classes are Journalism and English.
Nate Jones is a freshman at Stratford. He is a member of the shooting team and enjoys food. Nate also likes watching football. He has been at Stratford since 4K and his favorite class is English. His favorite food is a sandwich from Jimmy John’s or Jersey Mike’s. Nate is excited to be on the Gazebo staff.
Josie Lamb is a freshman. She is a JV cheerleader, runs cross country, and plays soccer. She has attended Stratford since 4k and her favorite class is Biology. She enjoys hanging out with friends, going to delicious restaurants and visiting the beach.
Hannah Lovett is a freshman who plays softball, basketball and tennis. Her favorite class is Spanish. She loves photography, dogs and enjoys volunteering at her local Save-a-Pet. She loves helping people and hopes to become a doctor. She also loves reading. Her favorite foods are Firehouse sandwiches and purple grapes. Her favorite TV show is “Grey’s Anatomy.” Her favorite movie is “Nerve.”
David Matlock is a senior. He plays football for the Eagles as a lineman. This is his first year on the staff as a sports writer. He is a TV addict, and his favorite shows are “Parks and Recreation” and “Game of Thrones.” He volunteered this summer at the Pruitt Health Center, and he hopes to attend Duke University.
Kenzie Muenzer is a sophomore in her second year on the Gazebo staff. She participates in the Spirit of Stratford color guard and is vice president of Girl Talk. She loves photography. Her favorite pastime is reading with a soothing cup of tea on her porch.
Hadley Neal is a sophomore. She is a JV cheerleader, runs cross country, track, and plays tennis. Her favorite food is strawberry-banana smoothies, and she enjoys watching “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Friends.” Her favorite classes are English, Spanish and Journalism.
Kaitlyn Neel is a sophomore. This is her first year on the staff. She is on the volleyball team and also plays track and tennis in the spring. Kaitlyn is an ambassador and a Girl Talk leader. Outside of school she is a part of Girl Scouts and National Charity League.
Anna Parel is a sophomore and a returning member for the Gazebo staff. She is a JV cheerleader and member of the Student Issues Board. She is going to play tennis in the spring. Her favorite food is French fries and her favorite classes are English and Journalism.
Chandani Patel is a sophomore at Stratford. She participates in theatre and will join Stratford’s track team in the spring. Her favorite food is pizza and she loves the movie “Kung Fu Panda 2.” This is her first year writing for the Gazebo, and she is very excited.
Deep Patel is a senior and in his second year on the Gazebo staff. Last year, he served as an assistant editor. Deep is a published author. His book, “The Paperboy’s Fable,” was published this summer and he received write-ups in the Huffington Post and Forbes. His second book is due later this year.
Emma Quintal is a freshman at Stratford. She is a JV cheerleader who also takes part in the Stratford theatre department. She will play tennis this spring. She is also in the drama club and is a Girl Talk leader. Her favorite foods are Hot Cheetos and Zaxby’s. Her favorite shows are “PLL” and “Young and Hungry.” She is very excited to be a part of the Gazebo staff.
Zuna Shabbir is a sophomore and a new member of The Gazebo staff. This is her fourth year as a member of the Spirit of Stratford band. Her favorite classes are study hall and English. Zuna enjoys reading, watching films and drinking coffee in the mornings.
Neely Shah is a freshman who enjoys playing the piano and guitar, as well as singing. She also enjoys playing basketball. Neely likes reading, writing and theatre. She loves helping various communities around Macon such as the Kolbe Center. She is very excited to get some journalism experience and contribute to The Gazebo.
Wade Snow is a senior. This is his first year on the Gazebo. He plays soccer, is a member of the Student Activities Board and co-president of the Pep Club. He believes Netflix original series are the purest form of entertainment.
Mary Lynes Sutton is a sophomore. This is her second year on the Gazebo staff. She plays tennis and is an equestrian. Her favorite classes are English and Journalism. Her favorite food is strawberries, and her favorite TV show is “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Maggie Thornsberry is a senior on the Gazebo staff. She is a member of the track team and pole vaults as her main event. She loves competition cheerleading. Her favorite movies are “Trainwreck” and “The Notebook.”
Charles Upshaw is a freshman and has been at Stratford since 4K. His favorite class is English. He plays baseball for Stratford and his hobbies include basketball, biking around downtown Macon and watching Atlanta Braves games. He is a sports writer for the Gazebo. He is excited for a great year of journalism with Mr. Grisamore.
Carly Wanna is in her third year on the Gazebo and is editor-in-chief. She was a free-lance writer for The (Macon) Telegraph this past summer. She is a member of the Spirit of Stratford marching band and participates in theatre. She is the descendant of Lebanese Royalty.
