Brooks leads Eagles front court
Most of Stratford’s front court marched down the aisle at graduation last spring.
Senior Nate Brooks is the long returning starter up front for the Eagles.
Brooks, who plays forward and center, is 6-foot-7 and the tallest player on the roster.
Not only has the team depended on his size and leadership, the Eagles have also depended on his scoring.
“We lost two key players this year, so the underclassmen have to step up,” said Brooks. “Tyler Jordan and I have a much bigger roles. We have a little less experience, but we play harder.”
Through this year’s first two games, Nate has scored 34 points, and pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Eagles advanced to the Class A Private School final four last year. Brooks hopes he can carry his team to the playoffs once again this year.
“I still have the same expectations as I did last year,” he said. “I expect us to make a long run in the playoffs and make a run for the championship.”
