Stratford family honors Dr. Veto for his service

Students, parents, alumni, and faculty gathered on a sun-splashed Monday afternoon at the soccer field to honor Dr. Bob Veto’s 11 years of service as headmaster of Stratford.

They were given the chance to greet and thank Dr. Veto. They also were served cake, lemonade, and shaved ice. Many students played, while music played from speakers.

Dr. Veto told several students that he was enjoying retirement and playing golf. He was also sporting a new beard.

During his 11 years of service to Stratford, he oversaw the construction of the Science Center, Jaime Kaplan Tennis Center, Cantrell Lower School, and Daws Student Activities Center.

He also was part of the 50th anniversary of the school, helped with three successful visits from the SAIS-SACS reaccreditation teams, and took part in the completion of two capital campaigns totaling for $11 million.
