Young Math Team Triumphs

Stratford sent six members of its Varsity Math Team to the recent Georgia Southern Mathematics Tournament and the group came home with first place in their division.

Sophomores Shishir Bandi and Stephen Mosley, and freshmen Om Sakhalkar, Deep Patel, Bhavik Narsinghani, and Carly Wanna traveled to Statesboro on Saturday, March 8. The students are coached by Mrs. Shannon Boswell (JV) and Mr. Bobby Stecher (V). Although Boswell and Stecher could not attend the competition, the team was accompanied by Mrs. Theresa Ferrari, Math Dept. Chair, and Mr. Jeff Hubbard, Middle School Math Team coach.

Stratford’s total score of 848 points easily outscored its closest competitor, the team from Tatnall Square Academy which scored 707 points.

Shishir Bandi boosted Stratford’s win with a perfect score on his test. His brother, 8th grade student and Middle School Math Team member, Nischal Bandi, also had a perfect score on his test.
