Monday’s rainy skies made it a great day to curl up with a good book.

And, with Stratford’s annual book fair returning for another year, students have been visiting the Olson Library to select their favorites.

Ms. Kaye Wansley, the lower school librarian, has been working at Stratford for 40 years. She said the book fair has been a school tradition for as long as she can remember, and it is great to see the students participating.

“They act like they’ve never seen a book before,” she said. “It’s like Christmas morning.”

Ms. Wansley is delighted to see the interest the children have in reading.

“The lower school still likes tangible books,” she said. “It’s fabulous to see them excited and thrilled over them.”

Childrens’ books aren’t the only things selling. This year’s book sale also includes adult best-sellers, cookbooks, and popular teen/young adult novels.

The book fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day this week except for Tuesday, when it will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
