Happy National Kazoo Day

Saturday is National Kazoo Day.

Many people do not know this but Macon is the place where the kazoo was invented. It was first presented to the world at the Georgia State Fair in 1852. Here is a link to the history of the instrument.

In 2008, the citizens of Macon tried to set the world record for the largest playing kazoo band at Luther Williams Field during the fair but unfortunately fell short.

In honor of the “National Kazoo Day” on Jan. 28,  senior Meredith Fuchs, a Spirit of Stratford Band Member, played a short tune on the kazoo.
