Gibbons featured visiting artist

Mrs. Pamela Barnett Gibbons is the Stratford visiting artist for this month. She attended Stratford from first to 12th grade and graduated in 1977.

Her love of art and painting began on Bond Street as a Stratford student taking art classes from Ann Tutt.  She also took lessons from local artists named Ernie Stofko-Dixon and Eugenia Simmons.

She graduated college from the University of Georgia with a degree in Psychology. She received her Master’s degree in Special Education from Georgia College.

After college, she became a teacher in the public school system in Macon but continued to pursue her art career.

Her three children inherited her artistic love and are very talented in their fields. All of her children went to Stratford.

Her youngest child, Lacey Gibbons Eason, graduated from the University of Georgia with magna cum laude and works part-time as a landscape designer and works full-time as a mom. Mallory Rose Gibbons graduated UGA with summa cum laude and is now a graphic designer in the Atlanta area.

Walker Gibbons, who graduated from Stratford in 2017, is a sophomore at Mercer and he participates in music. He was active in the theatre department at Stratford  with Ms. Sylvia Haney.
